Influenster Fall Cosmo VoxBox!

A couple months ago, I had a friend who shared briefly about how he was sampling all these new items getting shipped to his house for free! Of course I was super curious and I wanted to see what this was all about myself. So I signed up for Influenster, just ’cause; not really expecting much.

But about 5 weeks later, I was so so so excited to receive an email about qualifying for Influenster’s Fall CosmoVoxBox! I had to complete a survey to determine whether or not I was fit to receive this box, and I thankfully passed!

I really got a great first box of goodies and I’m going to review them for you today! 🙂

What’s Influenster?  The website defines themselves as “a free-to-join community of invited trendsetters who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster creates links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products.”

How exciting, right? So let’s take a look at what was inside my box!

My Fall Cosmo VoxBox…unboxed!

First up, I got these two super sweet Pilot Frixion Pens. I thought they were just ordinary ink-y pens until I saw the other end and read the description…these gel-ink pens ERASE! I think these are going to be my new favorite pens!

Second, was this delicious, full-sized Ghirardelli Sea Salt Escape Gourmet Milk Bar! I was so excited to try these…and I’ve got to say…they were delicious!! I’m definitely going to be gifting these out this holiday season!

Next…something I’ve been putting off to finally invest in…a full-sized Venus Embrace Razor! I’ve always been a user of disposable razors for their convenience, but lately I’ve been shopping for one of these! Best of all, it came in my two favorite colors, teal and lime green! 🙂 The sample that came in my Influenster box even came with refills for my new razor! So so so excited to use this. (Stay tuned if you want to know how much I love using it!)

Unpictured, but still a great sample, Bath & Body Work’s Forever Red Fragrance.

So these are all the wonderful goodies I got in my Influenster Fall Cosmo VoxBox. You can sign up for it too and review lots of new products too! Best of all, I was sent all of these items for free! Who doesn’t love free stuff?

What do you think of these products? Are you an Influenster member? Lemme know! 🙂

& Hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful week!

First of all, the biggest thank you to the Veterans of our country for your service and devotion to our country~

This weekend’s been such a great one! I was able to spend quality with with my best friend, (and boyfriend!) David! And to top everything off, there’s still 1 more day to this great 3-day weekend. We worked on some assignments due for our classes this week, ate a yummy gourmet Taiwanese burger, and watched Wreck it Ralph! Oh my goooodnesss, Wreck it Ralph was suuuuch a great movie! I’d definitely take a nice break during the week to catch the film if you haven’t already done so!

Mehehe, I love this little girl! She’s definitely my favorite!

We also took a night time stroll back to our empty high school where we admired all the changes made since our graduation dates. So nostalgic<3 And lastly, since I don’t really anything else to share about, here’s a picture of Dinner Du Jour~

Mixed Greens with Avocado in a Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing topped with Crumbled Bleu Cheese and a cup of my favorite Naked Juice — Green Machine!

Weekend Outings: Cousin’s Visit Day 2 – Downtown Brea!

Hello! And happy Monday to you all! I hope you all survived through your Monday without over-dosing on coffee like I did!

Since I split up the post for my weekend, I’m sharing Day 2 of my cousin’s visit to LA!

Merely Sweets Cupcakes

My cousin knows how completely obsessed I am with cupcakes, even from Toronto, because she follows my Instagram where I’m always posting pictures of the different cupcake places I’m trying. She was thrilled when I told her that Merely Sweets was closeby! After missing the same exit twice, we finally got to Brea Blvd. and Birch St., Brea’s Downtown District! We only had a couple hours to spend there because we had to rush back for dinner, but here’s the what we ate and what we were able to do in the short amount of time!

Merely Sweets Macarons
My cousin loved the gorgeous decor in various areas of the little bakery. Here’s their tiered Macaron Cake!

Merely Sweets Cupcakes

Nutella Cupcakes!

Merely Sweets Cupcakes Strawberry & Vanilla

Strawberry & Vanilla Cupcakes!

Merely Sweets Macarons

My cousin loved their macarons too! Her favorite was the Matcha Green Tea, perfectly baked crunchy cookie oozing with semi-sweet green tea ganache.

Merely Sweets Cupcakes

Our cupcakes! My cousins’ Strawberry and Nutella, and my Red Velvet!

Starbucks Menu

Then we headed to Starbucks for some drinks to wash all those yummy sweets down.

Bath & Body Works

Shopping for gifts to bring back home to Hong Kong at Bath & Body Works in Downtown Brea!

We really enjoyed ourselves in this little district and we wish we had had more time there. But we were sure to take lots of pictures everywhere we went to remind ourselves of these short-lived memories!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Downtown Brea? I’d love to know! And don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest, where you’ll see lots more of my favorite dreamy things!

Dreamy Eats: Merely Sweets Macarons

If you’re keeping up with the latest trends, you’ll know yummy food is the new obsession! Everyone’s raving about hole-in-the-wall restaurants, exotic food, and expensive little treats, or as I like to call it, “Princess Food.” Anyone that knows me knows that I’m just as obsessed with macarons as I am with cupcakes and I’m sometimes willing to drive as far as 50 miles to satisfy that cupcake or macaron craving (true story of two girls at 2am desperate for a Sprinkles Cupcakes cupcake). And after hearing all the buzz of a hyped-up macaron shop in the OC and receiving my first paycheck of the month, I was ready to splurge at Merely Sweets! Nesting itself in the heart of Downtown Brea, this little cupcake and macaron shop is now my quick go-to-fix for satisfying both my Sprinkles Cupcakes and ‘lette Macarons cravings at once! Its cute and chic modern layout inside really brings out the vibrant colors of their colorful macarons and their perfectly frosted cupcakes. Having been craving these crunchy little treats for a couple weeks now, here’s how I briefly cured my macaron desire.

Merely Sweets Macarons

Treated myself to a dozen of these little sweet treats!

The prices for their macarons are $1.65 each, but $18.50 for a dozen, compared to ‘lette’s $1.70/$19.50. But Merely Sweets’ macarons are bigger, but flatter, while ‘lettes cookie shells are thicker, but smaller. Having family over that night, I decided to just splurge and get the dozen. This was my opportunity to try flavors I’ve never tried before!

Merely Sweets Macarons

What survived through our family’s macaron frenzy upon sight of the box.

From left to right, Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Pistachio, Raspberry, and yummy Green Tea!

Merely Sweets Macarons

The pretty little “rainbow-krabby-patties” (as my friends call it) posing for a picture before being eaten!

Merely Sweets Macarons

With the Green Tea!

Merely Sweets Macarons

Vanilla, really rich with a creamy-thick texture.

Vanilla was one of my favorites of the batch. Not only is it a beautiful turquoise blue that already made it one of my favs, the flavor wasn’t so overpowering that it left my mouth resonating with a sugary taste.

Merely Sweets Macarons

Pistachio, pleasant bold taste of pistachios with just the right amount of sweetness.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Pistachio flavor. I was always uncertain to try it because I was worried it’d look more pretty with the others in the box than it tasted yummy. But I was definitely proved wrong with this as it turned out to be my favorite out of all the ones pictured in this post. I really loved the little teeny bits of pistachio nut you could taste in the nutty-creamy filling and the sweetness factor was just right!

That was my first little amateur review of a food place so yay! I hope to be posting more of these soon! Follow me on Instagram to see daily posts of all the places I visit! And don’t forget to email me at if there’s a place you want me to check out and blog about!

Warm Regards,

Summer Nights: 18 Mile Bike Trip!

Last night my friends from high school and I went on a 3 hour, 18 mile bike ride! It was my first time biking for a long distance (they said it would be to somewhere close by….) and also my first time riding a fixie! It turned out to be so much fun. We began at 9pm where we biked westwards towards the neighboring city’s downtown district. We did a lot of uphill biking to avoid the busier streets and went through a lot of beautiful neighborhoods (or at least what we could see of it in the darkness). Finally, it took us about 2 hours before we were finally there! My legs were definitely not in shape for this spontaneous trip and were wobbling when I got off my bike at our halfway point. When we hit our 9 miles at the Paseo, we decided to have Yard House happy hour food! The four of us had our yums and began our 9 mile trip back home at 12am. Coming back was so much fun! We took Colorado Blvd. all the way back, biking freely on the street with few cars in sight and racing each other just for fun. We finally called it a night when we got back home at 1am. Although I almost wasn’t able to get up this morning at 7am for my internship, it was definitely worth it! Now I’ll have about a week’s worth of memories while my leg muscles ache and the pain in my buttocks slowly goes away. Can’t wait to share more of my summer adventures! Buhbyes for now!

Warm Regards,

Summer Adventures: Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar

I had a really fun spontaneous visit to Disneyland Hotel’s Trader Sams yesterday. Though it wasn’t my first time, Trader Sams is definitely a place that’ll never bore me. The outdoor loungey chairs, the beautiful surrounding palm trees, the tiki torches–everything, just creates the perfect atmosphere for so much lighthearted fun with whomever you’re with. I went with my boyfriend and a couple of his friends and we sat outdoors (yes in the 100° socal weather) and cooled off with three of their yummy drinks! Bummed sometimes that I’m still not old enough to drink, I’m really glad their non-alcoholic options are made just as delicious as they are pretty!

Here are some of the moments I was able to capture with my new camera!

The Menu

Unfortunately, I only took pictures of the actual menu for Instagram. The drinks were all illustrated with cute colorful pictures! It was so hard for me and my boyfriend to choose our drinks!

Getting our drinks was so much fun, as each were so unique, colorful, and decorated! This was my boyfriend’s HippopotoMai-Tai–Disney’s twist on the regular drink which he thought was surprisingly strong.

Skipper Sipper

They happily replaced his drink with one that had less alcohol which he said was perfect! Here’s my “No-Booze-Brews” Skipper Sipper (Tropical juices, agave nectar, mint, and lime juice topped with soda water) next to his HippopotoMai-Tai!

Piranha Pool

Our friend’s Piranha Pool (Strawberry vodka, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, strawberry puree, and blue curacao). He described it as sort of an icee-like texture and he liked it very much!

Trader Sam's

His little surprise for me to put on my head! Such a sweetie he is. And then he guilt tripped me into Hawaiian dancing with him…which will not be documented for very good reasons.

I had a really great time here while enjoying nice cold drinks on a hot summer day! Next time we’ll go into the park too! Lemme know what you think!

Warm Regards,
